The Secretariat for Formation and Studies coordinates, promotes, and accompanies the Province's entire formation programme, ensuring that the formation of young friars follows the Province's Ratio Formationis (its official formation guidelines) and the directives of the Order.
The Secretariat implements and periodically reviews the Ratio Formationis, working closely with formators and formation coordinators to ensure that each stage of formation is properly planned and evaluated. It also gives particular attention to preparing formators for their role, identifying friars with an aptitude for formation work and recommending them for further studies in relevant fields.
Beyond this, the Secretariat maintains communication across the Province's various formation communities, formators, and the Provincial administration, ensuring continuity throughout the formation journey. It is also responsible for planning students' academic and secular studies, helping identify suitable courses and institutions in line with each candidate's abilities and the Province's needs.
